Another Fogbow!

I recently had the pleasure of seeing my second ever fogbow. They are a pretty rare phenomena and this is the second one in only two months. A fogbow is essentially the same as a rainbow, except it is seen during foggy conditions. Since the water droplets in the air are much smaller in fog than rain, they don’t diffract the light as well resulting in a white arch across the sky.

It was a lucky encounter as I had decided to go for a drive on a whim that morning. The fogbow disappeared within 15 minutes of me first noticing it. Below is another photo from that beautiful morning. I’m also going to include the first fogbow I saw from back in September just outside of Riding Mountain National Park.
